GESTION DES TERRESIndex. décimale : 120 - ECLOGIES, ETUDE D'ECO DEVELOPPEMENT, POLITIQUE D'ENVIRONNEMENT, GEOGRAPHIE, ECOSYSTEME Résumé : At its 54th meeting in June 2018, the GEF Council approved a new Policy for the System for Transparent Allocation of Resources (STAR), which introduced modifications to STAR as agreed by the Participants to the seventh replenishment of the GEF Trust Fund (GEF-7). The Secretariat also presented Guidelines to support the effective implementation of the Policy.
The Policy and Guidelines are effective as of July 1, 2018.2 2. This Note reports the initial STAR country allocations for the GEF-7 replenishment period (July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2022), calculated in accordance with the aforementioned Policy and Guidelines3 and the GEF-7 resource allocation framework agreed by the Participants to the replenishment.
The initial STAR country allocations for GEF-7 reflect a total replenishment level for programming of US$4,068 million. In accordance with the agreed resource allocation framework, the GEF-7 envelopes for the three STAR focal areas are US$1,292 million for Biodiversity, US$802 million for Climate Change, and US$475 million for Land Degradation.

It is a training exercise that provides the Associates with an international problem-solving and decision-making experience using a "real world" context as a case study. The session is the final segment of the training in which Cohort 9 LEAD Association have participated since their selection in 2000. Previous Cohort 9 Session include the international session in Pakistan, "sustainable Community Development: A chalenge for Gouvernance and ressource Management" ( 20 February to 3 March 2001) and training activities at the national and/ or regional level. The international session, hosted by LEAD Mexico and organised in cooperation with the LEAD international secretariat, represents the culmination of two years of new experiences and discoveries. Throughout their training, Associates have been introduced to new methods and tools of analysis, and have shared experiences with each other. They have met and worked alongside their conterparts from different countries, sectors and disciplines. They have traveled to other countries and, in some places, witnessed firshand the results of development policies at odds with environmentally sound behaviour. In other places, Associates welcomed attempts to steer the development path towards an increasing leve of sustainability. Many times, these two paths of development co-exist, increasing the complexity of making decisions for substantial change.

Dans les pays en voie de développement,l'urbanisation accelérée et insuffisamment préparée, due à l'influence de la population rurale vers les centres urbains,pose de graves problèmes environnementaux et sociaux,notamment dans le domaine de la santé.
