The Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP) is an organization linking sex worker health programmes around the globe. It has found that the incidence of HIV/STDs among sex workers is lowest when thez have control over their work conditions, access to condoms, lubricants and other safe sex materials and, significantly, when their basic human and legal rights are respected. The model focuses on strengthening the women's emotional autonomy and their sense of social responsibility. They documentated the entire process of intervention development on video tape. Cet article associe donc la violence sexuelle à la transmission directe du virus parce que la peur de la violence compromet la capacité de la femme à négocier pour les options sexuelles sûres, une activité sexuelle sans pénétration, l'assistance volontaire, le test et la dénonciation. Ce présent rapport nous parle donc de législation contre la violence domestique, l'influence, le plaidoyer et la mobilisation sociale pour une mise en application d'une amélioration et la clé pour réussir.
