The UMP seeks to promote coherent urban policies, strengthen urban management, and enhance the provision of municipal services by harnessing the skills and strategies of regional networks of experts and communities, as well as public and private sector organizations. It does this primarily through its regional offices in Accra, Ghana; Cairo, Egypt; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Quito, Ecuador.
