This report on resource material presented at the regional work-shop on energy for development forms Volume Two of the proceedingsof a workshop which vas held in Arusha, Tanzania from 4th April to 13th April 1983 at the Mount Meru Hotel. The workshop was organized and jointly sponsored by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Dar es Salaam and the Tanzania National Scientific Research Council in collaboration with the Environmental Studies Programne of the University of Lund, Sweden, which also liased with the Svedish International Development Authority in Stockholm, which funded most of the workshop expenses.
